West Bridgford Joinery handmade the intricate joinery for this stunning Georgian house in Chelsea, London. ⁠Our workshop made the intricate bespoke joinery for almost every corner of the luxury residence, as well as mirrors, vanity units and wardrobes.

All partners on the 18-month project, including property developers RAI Developments and 23 Architecture + Guy Stansfeld Architects / 318 Studio, were dedicated to delivering true excellence and achieving incredibly high attention to detail. West Bridgford Joinery turned the designers’ sketches and vision into reality and ensured all interior components married together perfectly.

High-spec material palette

Great care was taken to ensure the finish of all materials matched perfectly in every room. There was a beautiful palette, including glass, marble, aged metal, bronzed brass, oak veneer and solid oak. The bar in the reception room features integrated lighting and a concealed fridge, as well as an antique bronzed mirror with smoked glass on the basin units with engineered oak panels, painted doors and a bronze trim.

The same carefully selected batch of veneers and solid timbers were used throughout the master dressing room, choosing a natural finish rather than stained. The proportions of the fluted sections within the doors and drawer fronts were driven by the adjacent reeded glass, a very subtle detail that added to the amazing look and feel of the area.

Bespoke oak bureau for luxury home study

Utilising the same veneers and solid oak, the bureau was stained to coordinate with the moodier vibe of the main study. ⁠Leather desktop inlays and upstand perfectly set off the warm tones of the wood. Bronze inlays around the drawer fronts and specialist ironmongery continued the theme of the whole package, adding the subtle and high-end detail to complete the look.

Marble vanity unit for ensuite bathroom

In the master ensuite bathroom, the vanity unit has a multi-faceted 1930s-style mirror framed in aged brass and fitted with an integrated demister. It is completed with a white Carrera marble top, integrated sink, brass inlay and solid oak fluted drawer fronts to match the fluting of the glass ensuite door.

Solid oak fluted wardrobe door frames

For one of the dressing rooms, solid oak door frames were made with fluted centre panels, integrated bronze handles, and beautiful linen wrapped panels.

For a house of such high specification, smart technology had to be carefully integrated into the joinery with beautiful intricacy. The workshop incorporated discrete voids and air conditioning units, lighting and electrics are cleverly hidden behind removable panels on several pieces of joinery.
