The nod was given on October 29, agreeing to all the details associated with the joinery (design. . etc.) at the covent garden branch of Murdocks and on November the 22nd we delivered the last piece of joinery to complete the order.  We all worked day and night for 3 weeks to get the job done. All in all there where 22 independant pieces varying from the cash desk, barber units, display counters and shelving systems.

This display unit was made up in two parts. The upper section was with Oak uprights with cnc machining. The shelves were adjustable with Lazer cut and powder coated brackets. The lower part was made for Oak veneered MDF with Red 'color-core' top and brass plinth.

This was part of the display area in the lower part of the shop. Using a similar style of adjustable shelving inspired by gym wall bars. The modular shelves fitted throughout the store.

This was one of the double barber units in made by us. The specification was highly detailed.

This is one of three display units we made.  Materials: Solid Oak Frame, Stainless steel shelving support system and glass shelves.

The shop opened on-time and was well received by Brendan the owner, staff and their regular clients.

Not the most glamorous commission - To build a set of set of adjustable shelves with the Spur shelving system to house a 1000 books on a curved wall. The end result however, did look very interesting and more importantly fore filed the brief. The curve wasn't a true radius which meant that each shelf had to be cut by-hand as opposed to being CNC'd. We got there in the end. Materials: Sapele veneered MDF Clear 10% Lacquer.

This was a pair of sapele bookcases we managed to complete in time for christmas for a client in West Bridgford. We make and install around 12 pairs of bookcases a year for various clients. The specification of these however, was extremely precise and had to be meticulously installed to accommodate our clients large collection of books. The difference between each shelf was ever so slightly different to maximise space and to fit the different sized books.  The carcass was constructed from sapele veneered MDF. Shelves, scribe details and cornice - solid sapele. Lacquered to a 10% sheen level

As part of the design the shelves were made so that they could also be adjusted.  5mm holes are machined into the sides of the bookcase where the shelf supporting peg is housed. The holes are usually spaced around 50mm apart from top to bottom.  Although to work in line with our clients spec. the distance between each hole differed to coincide with a scheme to accommodate the books.

The left hand bookcase was made to accommodate books at the top and an LCD TV beneath. The shelves beneath the TV were shaped to fit the sky box and DVD player. The Backboard of this book case was made extra thick so that the TV bracket could be securely fixed. This gave our client the option to extend the TV on its bracket and rotate to an 80 degree position (if required) when viewing.

During the month November we were very pleased to be involved in the Pop-Up Café at The Royal academy of arts for 'Sketch', the famous London Restaurant.

In conjunction with the London based Mexican Designer Andres de Soto, Our job was to Fabricate all of the Café’s furniture and Fittings including Stools, tables, till, and giant cake stands. The Materials that Andres had sourced to create the furniture were unconvential to say the least and sometimes very tricky to work with. However, the finished product was very unique and currently represents the most interesting furniture we’ve ever made.

The display items were made with a variety of materials including mirrored perpex, cnc'd clear and frosted perspex, oak veneered MDF, Printed Lino, Lacquered MDF.

The stool and table bases were fabricated by a metal work company near us and then powder coated a matt black.

The table tops were lacquered 'Valchromat' (a portuguese product that is like a dyed MDF) with 'Bolon' tops, (a Swedish Flooring product).

The collaberation of all the furniture and fittings came together to make a brilliant setting for the amazing food to be served.

The whole project was quite intense but very worth while.
